Summary: Jonah asked my Grandpa a few questions about his life story from living in the Philippines, to how he acquired a better life as a structural engineer in America.
Immigrating is a decision people in different countries thinks about. Many people decide to move to the U.S. in pursuit of a better life; better political system, decent paying jobs, and a set of fair laws that protects them and their rights. At least, that’s what my Grandpa wanted. This story matters because it shows that people want to live in America and how my Grandpa was able to get the job he wanted by moving here. He also talks about what kind of projects he worked on in his job, including my house right next door to his.
